Privacy Policy

This page explains what CatchReel collects, why, and where it goes. The short version: your catches are yours, we show no ads, we run no trackers, and we never sell your data.

Your account

You sign in with your Google or Apple account. We store the email address and name your sign-in provider shares, to keep your fishing log tied to you and to reply when you contact support. We do not use your email for marketing.

Your catch photos

When you build a trip, the app uploads the catch photos you picked, along with each photo's capture time and GPS position. That is your fishing log: the photo, when you caught the fish, and where. Photos are private to your account and are processed on our own servers.

CatchReel asks for photo library access, including photo location metadata, so it can read the time and GPS stored in your catch photos. It only uploads the photos you choose.

Location

Catch locations come from the GPS position your camera stored in the photo. The app never tracks your position. We use trip coordinates to look up the trip's location name and its conditions, such as weather, waves, tides, and sunrise and sunset. Conditions lookups use only coordinates and dates, never anything about you.

Crash reports and service logs

If the app crashes, a crash report with technical details about the failure and your device is sent to our crash reporting service. Crash reports never include your photos. Our servers keep standard technical logs to run the service and diagnose failures.

What we don't do

• No ads and no advertising identifiers
• No third party analytics or tracking
• No selling, renting, or trading your data
• No sharing your catches or your GPS spots with anyone. Your spots are yours.

Deleting your data

Delete any catch or trip in the app and its photos go with it. To delete your account and everything we store about you, email [email protected] from the address linked to your account.

Where your data lives

Our servers and photo storage are hosted in the United States.

Children

CatchReel is made for adult anglers and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the new version will be visible at this URL.
